Be Positive

The key to value and worth is to know who we are in Christ Jesus. When we do that, there is nothing for us to do but to stand in awe of the Lord and give Him thanks. We read the story about a Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-37 who was childless. She offered hospitality to Elisha; a man of God. God honoured her with a son after the man of God prophesied to her. When the child was grown, he died. The Shunammite woman continued to be positive and went to the man of God. As many people asked her if all was well, she answered by not explaining what has happened to her son; but said all was well. The man of God came to pray for the child, and he lived. This woman had every chance of yelling, complaining and been sad; but she set her mind on been positive, putting her trust in the Lord. Many at times when people go through challenges, instead of been positive over the situation, they complain and loose hope. Proverb 18:21 tells us that “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue”: We must therefore watch out for the word that comes out of our mouth. We must encourage ourselves like the Shunammite woman to be positive and speak well no matter what challenges we may be facing. When we stay positive, we allow God to suddenly move in the situation to turn things around for our joy. Stay positive.
